Global Symposium on Ageing

KOSTAT-UNFPA Joint Work Project

  • The KOSTAT-UNFPA joint work project is five-year project (2015-2019) between KOSTAT and UNFPA on global ageing research. Activities include comprehending global ageing states and analyzing political and economic influence on social cost to establish joint international action.
  • The two parties jointly collaborated on the successful debut of the 2017 Global Symposium on Ageing and the preparation of the stocktaking report for MIPAA+15 which will be reported to the UN commission for social development.
  • The following projects will be carried out to complete the joint work project: building a knowledge base, analyzing data and data sources, organizing a preparatory committee, encouraging partnerships among the public and private sectors, as well as researching policies for health, pensions, welfare, housing, transportation, enabling supportive environments for older persons, and related social costs.
